Do you think that it could be a good idea to mentionned under a picture if it is photoshoped or not ?
It's an idea of a french politician (a woman). She proposed a law to impose this mention, in a way to preserve people from bad self estim concerning their physical appearance. I translate for you what she said :
"These pictures coul make people believing in this almost always fake reality"." It's not correct to make us thinking that 20 years old people are prettier than 70 years old. I want to re-built the border between reality and virtuality."
She didn't mention anorexia (she made the law to ban pro anorexia website a few years ago in France) or things like this, but just want to say that it's a general tendancy to show a fake reality.
What's your opinion ?

that's a great idea. saying if it was photoshopped even at the bottom on the page in teeny tiny letters would be good enough for me. :]
I think it's a good idea. Then maybe people would stop trying so hard to look like these people in magazines who don't even look like that themselves! Very good idea.
hmm. i don't know. i think, in general, the majority of people already know that almost all images presented in the media have been altered in some way. however, there are those who don't know this--especially kids. so, yes, i think it would be a good law. it makes me feel kind of bad (not too bad though) for the celebs... having "this image has been photoshopped" under their picture. haha.
That's definitely an interesting take on it. But I agree on what here_goes said about most people knowing if it's been altered or not. Then it would be up to friends & family to let an individual know that that's how the media works, if he/she already didn't know. But then, I guess just having it noted in a tiny corner of the photo would probably have a positive effect on the way girls perceive themselves.
I actually like the idea of adding that information. It's bad enough that a crap load of women are uncomfortable with their images when they compare them to women in magazines. Knowing what they're looking at has been touched up might help a little bit. :]
